Normally, to power off an iPhone, we would normally hold the power button on the side of the device then swipe “slide to power off” option. This is no doubt the fastest way to power off an iPhone but then, Apple also provided alternative ways to turn off an iPhone without the power button.
One would probably not know the importance of this until the power button develops fault. But even without the power button developing fault, there is no harm in knowing these workarounds as well.
In iOS 11, Apple actually provided not one but two alternative ways to turn off an iPhone without the power button. The first option can be found in Settings while the second involves using “AssistiveTouch”.
As earlier stated, these two methods come in handy if the Power button on your iPhone stops working and you’re unable to use it to switch off your iPhone. With that said, let’s see how to use each of these alternative methods to turn off an iPhone without the power button.

Now press the AssistiveTouch button to open its menu. You should see the new Device option. Tap on it to open.
Press and hold the Lock Screen icon. After a couple of seconds, you should see the power off screen. Now swipe the ‘slide to power off’ knob to the right to switch off your iPhone.
