How To Login To Any Website With Your Fingerprints On Google Chrome Browser

The era of inputting slew of confusing passwords for loads of different websites may finally be fading out, as you can now login to any website with your fingerprints on Google Chrome Browser.

Tired of using passwords to login on website? Google has finally come to the rescue with its latest update on its web browser “Chrome. The latest Google Chrome Browser update let’s you log into websites using either your fingerprint, your face or USB keys.

Over the past few years, we have been made to believe using complex passwords that include alphanumerics, or a mix of the upper, lower case that include numbers and special characters are better ways to protect our online information and accounts. But in reality, these complex passwords only make your account far more difficult for unauthorized parties to guess or crack with ha*king tools but these complex passwords are not completely safe.

The safest known method of securing your account from unauthorized users is through signing in with your face or fingerprint. This gives your account an additional layer of security that can thwart h*ckers, which is why most Phones and Laptops manufacturers are now including these biometric technologies in their recent flagships.

But despite most smartphones adopting these technology, they only grants access to the device itself but they do not let you log into websites.
However, if you have the latest update of Chrome 67, you would be able to login to any website with your fingerprints on Google Chrome Browser just like most of these advanced smartphones.

This is because Chrome 67 update is now enabled with the WebAuthn feature for everyone. The WebAuthn is short for Web Authentication, it’s a newly added feature that let’s users sign into any web page or social media sites without needing to enter a password, but websites won’t be getting this functionality automatically. Websites will have to add support for WebAuthn before Chrome browser will let you log in using your face or thumbs.

How To Update Google Chrome

★ On your computer, open the Google Chrome browser

★ At the top right, click the More icon (three vertical dots)

★ Click Update Google Chrome

★ If that option isn’t there, it means you’re already using the latest version

★ Once you’ve updated, click Relaunch

★ The browser will save your open tabs and windows and re-open them when it restarts

★You can also restart your browser later on by clicking Not Now

This will cause the update to be applied the next time you restart your browser

The More icon will be coloured (1) green if an update has been available for 2 days, (2) orange if an update has been available for 4 days, or (3) red if an update has been available for 7 days.

Now that the technology is available on one of the most popular web browser’s globally, it’s likely that we’ll see more companies offering the tech.
