In order to discover the latest, trending and noteworthy Apps, the iOS 11 App store has been redesigned with new tabs from what it used to be in previous App stores design.
Apart from a redesigned App Store, iOS 11 is packed with tons of exciting new features like the stylish looking control Center, native screen recorder, peer-to-peer Apple Pay payments, and much more.
But one major concern with its App store is that it automatically plays app previews (muted videos) wherever they appear. Although this is not a big issue on connections over Wi-fi, but users connected to cellular data have to be extra careful as they’ll end up wasting lot of mobile data on videos not needed.
Fortunately, Apple provides a setting that allows users to stop App Store from playing videos automatically. You can completely disable this behaviour or set videos to load automatically only when you’re connected to Wi-Fi. Here’s how you can find and configure this setting.
How to Stop App Store from Playing Videos Automatically
— Open the Settings app on your device.
— Go to iTunes & App Store.
— Tap on Auto-Play Videos.
— Options for video autoplay appear i.e ON, WI-FI ONLY, OFF.
— Select OFF to completely disable AutoPlay videos in the App Store 11.
That’s it. Now App Store will prevent videos from being played automatically.
This will save you from wasting unnecessary mobile data bandwidth. With that said, videos can still be viewed except that this time you have to tap on them if you wish to watch them.
